Background

“Sport for Development” aims to provide sport activities in IDP and refugee camps as well as in host communities as a means of psychosocial support, violence prevention, and conflict transformation through life skills-based fun, and participatory approach. The project capacitates trainers, multipliers, and social workers in the holistic and sustainable Sport for Development methodology and provides sports equipment to implementation sites.

 

Responsibilities

The sports coach is responsible for

  • Training 8 Youth teams (15 – 20 years) 5x/week and in football and Ultimate Frisbee making Youth of the “Sport for development”-an approach that aims at fostering peace-building through sport
  • Assisting Peacebuilding sessions for Development 8 Youth teams (15 – 20 years) 5x/week
  • Planning and organizing football and Ultimate Training sessions and follow up on Youth’ attendance and individual development
  • Planning and organizing tournaments and matches

 

Qualification

  • Football coaching experience on children’s / Youth level (at least 3 years, certificates are an asset)
  • First experience in the trend sport Ultimate Frisbee and willingness to learn and improve playing and coaching skills in a very limited time
  • Experience in working with children and Youth
  • Experience in working in a multi-ethnic/multireligious environment
  • Degree in Physical Education / Sports institute is an asset
