Project Description

This project through community-based child protection centres was aiming to enhance competencies and capabilities of children, adolescent and to empower their creative thinking through building their resilience skills and positive thinking that led them to be more optimistic towards brighter future since they live in a district of limited services.
Four Child Protection committees were established in Sinjar sub-district, these committees were trained on how to prevent and respond to child protection issues. Those committees contained structures including local authorities, schools teachers, health centres, police, and civil society members that could be mobilized to keep children safe from all forms of harm and violence. As well as  16 Children and Adolescent clubs were established, the aim of those clubs was to deliver Child Protection messages through their talents in (Theater, Photography, Drawing, Music and Books, etc… ). To encourage them not just to be members of a community, but vibrant and active agents for changes.

4500 girls and boys were targeted through PSS activities, also 800 adolescent boys and girls were trained through Youth Resilience and Adolescence Girl’s Toolkit program activities. In addition, 8000 girls, boys, women, and men were reached through awareness-raising and advocacy on key identified Child Protection issues. Finally, 450 girls and boys who were at risk and/or ISIS survivors were reached through case management program.
